***Sudden hearing loss is a medical emergency*** If you or someone you know is experiencing it, seek immediate care, either at the ER or through an urgent ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) appointment. The first 72 hours are critical: steroid treatment or intratympanic injections may offer the best chance of recovering some hearing, but are typically only effective within that window.
