WELCOME TO MY BLOG
Art and self-expression, through both the visual and performing arts, have brought me joy for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Barranquilla, Colombia meant being surrounded by color, rhythm, and creativity.
My father, an architect and painter, and my mother, a textile and fashion designer, filled our home with inspiration, so my love for the arts was almost inevitable. I carried those vibrant memories with me to the U.S., where I continue my creative journey today. (More in my bio)
Then came a Friday in August 2017, when I woke up unable to hear from my right ear. Since then, tinnitus, sound sensitivity, and dizziness have become part of my daily life. Sudden hearing loss was devastating and disorienting, yet also humbling and transformative. It marked a turning point, a kind of rebirth that reshaped me as an artist and as a person.
Below, you can step into either side of my world: my life's work as a painter, and my journey as a hearing health advocate.
