The Lion’s Roar: Commission Work

‘The Lion’s Roar’ – A Mixed-Media Commission Exploring Sound, Memory, and Intentional Expression

The Lion’s Roar is a recently installed large-scale mixed-media commission created for a private collector and now placed at the headquarters of a global company. This work brings together many of the elements I often explore in my abstract paintings—sound, vibration, memory, and the emotional resonance that lives between them.

The piece was created using hand-crafted pigments made from red wine and ground coffee, combined with acrylic inks, oil pastels, and graphite. These materials added texture and layered depth to the composition, allowing the surface to carry both history and movement.

Although the title carries a personal meaning for the collector, it also gestures toward a broader idea that often guides my studio practice: the power of using one’s voice with intention. True impact doesn’t come from loudness; it emerges from clarity, purpose, and presence.

In this commission, vibration becomes visual through the interplay of tension, color, and gesture. The painting channels the feeling of sound traveling through space—expansive, rhythmic, and grounded.

Large-scale abstract works like this allow me to create layered environments where texture, shape, and color work together to evoke calm and connection. They invite viewers to pause and enter the quiet dialogue beneath the surface.
